Abstract
Modern lift cabin interiors have evolved into architecturally expressive spaces incorporating premium materials and integrated systems. While these finishes enhance perceived quality, they introduce significant engineering implications that are often overlooked during design. As lift-rated capacity and traffic analyses are typically based on bare cabin dimensions, the addition of interior finishes reduces the net usable area available to passengers, affecting passenger capacity, traffic performance and accessibility compliance.
