Escalator Driven by the High Performance Inverter System

Line starting using contactors is a conventional method for escalator system. Recently, consumer's requirements for energy saving and variable function are increasing. To satisfy these demands, LG OTIS Elevator has developed an escalator that is driven by inverter system. In this paper, technical schemes of the developed escalator are introduced and the performance of the proposed system is experimentally verified.
